-Owner and Body Contouring Specialist-

I grew up in Calgary but after visiting BC in 2008, it was love at first sight and I moved to the island shortly after.  My family originates from Newfoundland and I think being near the water is in my blood.  After bouncing around the peninsula (and loving all of it), I decided Sidney was the place I could put down roots and start a family

After losing 45 pounds in 2018, I was really struggling to lose in certain areas even with diet and exercise.  On a trip home to see my family I started exploring some treatment options in Calgary.  After a lot of research, I came across the world of Body Contouring.  I was having trouble finding a professional here to help me so I decided to pursue a career in Body Contouring.  I'm passionate about it.  It is a new and fast paced industry and I'm so excited to bring these services to Sidney. I travelled to Calgary for training in Body Contouring at The Eternal Beauty Institute. The Skinny first opened doors in February 2022. Two months after giving birth to my second son.  While going to school and opening this business I had the joy of becoming pregnant and am now expecting number 3 in May 2023.

Prior to this I opened and operated Buds Cannabis.  These days I take on more of admin role there.  My previous work history was in Healthcare specializing in dementia, long term care, and special needs.  Caring for and connecting with people is important to me which is why this industry is such a great fit for me! If I can help put a smile on someone’s face, my day is complete!

- Master Licensed Esthetician/Body Therapist - 

 Emily is our resident Master Esthetician and Body Therapist at The Skinny. She has over 8 years of experience in the spa industry. After finishing her esthetics education at the world renowned Aveda Institute here in Victoria she started her career working at some of the best spas in the city. Facials are her specialty and she has been known to send clients to sleep during their treatments!  

**I am so proud to be working at The Skinny. Megan has given me a space where I can truly be myself and excel doing what I do best!  Moving to The Skinny has given me the opportunity to grow my skills and create a space that I am excited to share with clients each day. Adding the Spa experience to The Skinny with Megan gave me the ability to choose each and every detail; from my favorite skincare line ( Eminence Organic Skincare ) to the fluffiest and coziest bedding on our treatment bed.  Together we have created a space above the hustle and bustle of Sidney where clients can enjoy a completely private spa space with products and services to pamper you from head to toe! 

I am a self-proclaimed nerd and cat lady, and proud of it! When I’m not at work you can usually find me at home, in my glow-in-the-dark onesie with my two cats and husband.  I grew up in Sidney and most of my family still lives here.  I am an avid video gamer and a true introvert at heart.  I love painting, reading, photography and naps.  Depending on the day, my music taste varies from Taylor Swift to Miles Davis.  I love a good murder/mystery documentary and my husband and I are known to spend whole weekends binging series without leaving the house.
